David Yurman's twisted cable
David Yurman took his basic twisted cable design and with the help of his wife turned it into a designer jewelry empire.
David Yurman is a popular contemporary jewelry artist whose designs can be found in all the major upscale department stores such as Saks 5th Avenue and Neiman Marcus. 
David Yurman originally studied sculpturing and came into the jewelry design business after a short artist career as sculptor. After positive reaction to an angel shaped copper belt buckle that he designed for his wife, Sybil, he created and sold additional belt buckle designs and started experimenting with wire and eventually crafted his signature design – that of a twisted cable.
His original twisted cable design was crafted into helix-shaped bracelets with jeweled terminators. Now this twisted cable design is incorporated into every piece of jewelry he designs. For example, his large cocktail rings are set with a twisted cable bezel and his link necklaces will alternate twisted cable links with smooth links.
