How to Choose One Carat Diamond Stud Earrings
Most women have at least one set of stud earrings, typically faux or authentic pearls from her wedding day or some other special occasion. However, it is less common for women to have diamond studs, especially those with larger carat sizes. If you’re looking for a one-carat diamond for stud earrings or something larger, here is a short guide of what to look for.
Larger diamonds are set the same way as smaller diamonds, typically in a bezel or solitaire setting. Large carat diamonds in between two and five carats will be noticeably larger, although those around the one carat diamond range will be much less so.
Make sure the jeweler can provide a certification for the diamonds. Otherwise, you may have a fake diamond such as CZ and Moissanite. In order to avoid unscrupulous dealers and jewelers, read about diamonds, particularly about the 4 Cs – carat, clarity, color and cut.
Stud earrings tend to be minimalist, usually featuring one stone, although there are studs that feature several round brilliant small diamonds in a pave setting or 4 to 9 larger princess cut diamonds in a channel setting.
Typically stud earrings do not have a give shape if they contain on stone. If there are several diamonds, they are likely to be in one of the common shapes, such as flowers.
If you are looking for a set of stud earrings with multiple stones, the largest stone will be the center stone. Typically the center stone is much smaller than a one-carat diamond, although it is possible to replace that center stone with a larger stone of your choice.
