The end of the year is usually synonymous with gala’s, fancy parties and extravagant events and one needs all the help it can get to look elegant and fierce. That’s why when you decide upon a gown you should be certain it will help you on multiple occasions.

Sure we all buy things cause we like them or find them interesting but we must also keep in mind the utility of these items. It serves no one to use a gown a single time. You must analyse the tailoring of your gown and also what type of outfits you can create with it.


Is it a gown that can be worn with a twist or is it a single trick dress? If you decide to invest in an elegant gown make sure it fits you perfectly and that you can always mix it up a bit. Surely you can’t wear a fancy gown with a pair of snickers but does your gown allow you to use multiple styles of shoes?


The gown that I choose above can be dressed up using a pair of slick sandals and a clutch for a fancy gala but also worn without heels (a pair of ballet flats would work nicely) and a big hat at a summer wedding.


Make sure you go for classic colors when you invest in a high end quality piece. We all love bold colors even neon like ones but these are trends that will eventually fade - keeping in simple with ivory, black, grey or red should be the winning ticket.
